Dominic Patterson
Managing Director

Since he founded the company in 2010, Dominic has developed a culture of originality; that produces executive content and world-class conferences, many of which have become the singular events of their industry.

With over a decade’s experience in all forms of business events, as well as publishing and politics, Dominic has built a reputation as a leader in business media. Connect Media Group has been twice recognised as a BRW Fast Starter, a BRW Fast 100 Company, and a SmartCompanySmart50.

British by birth, Dominic is a dual citizen residing in Sydney with his family. A sportsman and a lover of performing arts, he maintains a keen interest in political affairs and has hosted a radio show with several listeners.

He has a Bachelor of Arts in Management (Economics) from the University of Westminster in London, certificates from AFTRS and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Emma Charter
General Manager

With company-wide responsibility, Emma oversees and coordinates all day to day operations, ensuring high standards of delivery and exceptional team performance.

Bringing her international expertise, dynamic work ethic and 17 years of media experience, Emma’s remit extends to the development of new products to meet the objectives of our growing roster of clients.

Having spent her youth in Mudgee, NSW, Emma has an insatiable travel bug that has taken her all over the world in search of adventure and the perfect Shiraz. She is also writing her first novel.

Jessica Bryan
Production Manager

As an integral part of the company’s growth and development into a market leader, Jessica is held in high regard in the industry-event sector.

Having joined the company in its infancy she has established a number of best-practice initiatives which have propelled the company in its growth and leadership of the industry standard.

Jessica has a background in HR and marketing with a Bachelor of Business from the University of New England. Originally from Armidale in country NSW, she has travelled extensively, lived on four continents and can speak Italian.

Kirsty Dagnall
Marketing and Innovation Manager

Kirsty oversees the entire company marketing function from design to the registration desk. She organises marketing strategy and collateral, manages the design, research and sales teams and ensures that everything goes out at the right time to the right people.

With over 9 years’ experience in events and marketing, she has worked on a variety of event portfolios – from fundraisers to gala dinners, and has specialised in B2B and trade marketing, especially the conference and exhibition industry.

She has a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Communication, and has been living in Australia for over five years after two years of travelling the world. Originally from Wales, she still passionately follows the Welsh rugby team and is a former British Tae Kwon Do Champion.

Carly Bakewell
Operations Manager

Carly is responsible for all of our operations including event delivery, customer service and the administrative needs of the company. A dynamic and energetic presence, Carly has quickly become a highly proficient events professional with her expansive and growing portfolio of skills.

Carly has a Diploma of Events Management and is easily the company’s most physically active employee.

Anneliese O'Sullivan
Programme Manager

Anneliese has been part of the Connect Media Group team since October 2014 and, having completed the Graduate scheme, has ascended to the role of Programme Manager in 2017. In managing speaker activities, she ensures the successful planning and execution of our event programmes.

Anneliese holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media and has a background in agency media buying. She is a keen sportswoman and painter in her spare time.

Angel Gomez
Commercial Manager

Angel manages the acquisition and development of commercial partnerships across an extensive portfolio of industry leading events.  Joining the team in 2016, he has brought a wealth of experience in sponsorship account management from the United States, Latin America, and Europe.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Angel is an avid traveller who managed to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance) whilst in the United States and a Master’s Degree in Marketing (Sport and Event Management) in France.

Angel is a former semi-professional baseball player and a lover of sports with a command of 3 languages.

Tim Lockwood
Commercial Manager

Tim oversees the growth, management and activation of event sponsorships, working with some of the world’s leading companies on their investments.

After fast-tracking his career by undertaking an Advanced Diploma in Business Marketing, majoring in Sports Management and Marketing, Tim has managed celebrity talent, speaking engagements and network deals as well as overseen national sponsorship for some of Australia’s leading brands.

Tim is a keen sportsman who regularly indulges in playing and watching sport, regardless of the hour.

Elise Hislop
Designer

Elise has nearly five years’ design experience working as a creative agent for some of Australia’s most exciting brands.

In managing all aspects of design her vision is felt from inception to execution across all our media products.

Graduating with a Bachelors in Spatial Design at AUT University in Auckland, New Zealand, Elise also regularly exhibits her creations in galleries from here to New Zealand.

Stefan Semken
Delegate Sales Manager

Stefan leads a professional sales team who develop our event audiences and community.

Having worked in corporate events for five years, Stefan has a keen entrepreneurial spirit and determined mindset that has enabled him to build strong client networks.

Stefan has studied Business and Marketing, is a seasoned traveller, and has an impressive knowledge of electronic music and retro video games.

Graduating from the University of Technology with a Bachelor of Management in Events and Leisure, Emily is responsible for activating and supporting our growing roster of clients in getting the most from our platforms from start to finish.
